Projects

We are a multidisciplinary advisory firm in the Netherlands, bringing together experts in sustainability consulting, urban planning, architecture, industrial design, and economics.

Our team offers extensive experience in areas such as material flow analysis, urban mining, scope 3 analysis, carbon budgeting, nature impact analysis, and circular urban planning. Committed to rethinking urban and built environment systems, we are curious and bold. Challenging conventions to deliver genuinely sustainable and structural solutions grounded in data analysis and first-principles thinking. Prioritizing people, ecosystems, and future generations.

Our projects

Ongoing
We support the city with a decision support tool for calculating the emission savings (operational and embedded emissions) by applying interventions on their whole real estate portfolio.
Ongoing
We analyze TBI Woonlab's housing construction materials to identify the top opportunities for replacing new materials with reused ones, aiming to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and improve environmental performance scores (MPG).
Ongoing
We support the one of the largest construction companies in the Netherlands harmonizing their CSRD Scope 3 reporting process.
Ongoing
We conduct detailed material flow analyses for the Dutch construction sector, mapping resource use and assessing environmental impacts like the Environmental Cost Indicator (MKI) and CO₂. Our analysis includes future scenarios to provide insights that support policymakers and the industry in achieving circularity and climate objectives for 2030 and 2050.
Completed
Addressing the question of how urban design can support both low-carbon cities and spatial quality, we assist the Rijksvastgoedbedrijf in building and sharing knowledge on this topic and integrating findings into established planning procedures.
Ongoing
Implementation of biobased insulation in 566 monumental dwellings and one iconic market hall. The LIFE BIOMATINE project will be a showcase in pilot projects in Amsterdam of the potential of biobased building materials .
Ongoing
Can we increase the understanding within the organization of impact of infrastructural projects? We develop a carbon budget for Apeldoorn’s public space projects, looking ahead to 2030 and 2050.
Ongoing
How can cities plan for the spatial impact of the circular economy? We assess the spatial claim of some essential circular activities in different value chains (e.g., building with wood, or reducing consumption of new electronics) and how cities can ensure space exists for these activities to flourish.
Ongoing
How can cities integrate circular principles in their area developments in the Netherlands? We explore how cities can both use existing legal frameworks as well as innovative assessment tools.
Ongoing
There ample potential for vertical densification in Denmark, but implementation lags. How can we help design the business model, design and impact model for vertical extensions in major cities in Denmark?
Ongoing
How can we make existing laws and regulations an accessible tool for policymakers in the transition? Together with our partners we are building the CircuLaw platform, which aims to enable governments to use the law as a leverage to accelerate the circular economy.
Completed
How do companies manage the risk of using secondary construction products? This paper explores the potential of insurance to support market uptake.
Ongoing
For the Greater London Authority we research how cities around the world have set Whole Life Carbon emission benchmarks, and consider social impact.
